Let's Begin

This blog entry is the first of many blogging experiences you will have in this course. Throughout this course you will use this blog to explore some of the many facets of the online information world. During this marking period you will use this blog to learn about teen literature, MLA Format, citation makers, plagiarism, Wikipedia, Google Docs, RSS Feeds, Readers, Copyright and other Web 2.0 tools.

The first task you have for each day of this course is to log onto the internet, visit this blog and complete a short exercise. Your response to each blog entry is worth 2 classwork points per day, totaling 10 per week.

Let's begin with the first assignment.

Exercise

  1. Choose one word for the list below.
  2. Explain what you know about it.
  3. Type your response in the box.
  4. Type the code word and click "Post Comment" submit your response to the blog.

Example:
I know that Wikipedia is a kind of wiki. People can add and change information to Wikipedia. Sometimes this information is correct and sometimes it is not. I need to be careful when using Wikipedia for school work.
